From Sadie's foster dad:
Sadie’s original “mother” died of cancer. I met the nurse who cared for the woman to get the cat. I couldn’t bring myself to take her to an overcrowded shelter and let her blend in with all the other black cats. So I thought I would try to get her into rescue. It took me sitting in her room a little each day for almost two weeks before she would hang out for attention. But now she runs to greet me, purrs, and rubs against me the whole time I am in the room with her. She doesn’t do well with cats or dogs. So Sadie has been fostered in a room in my house that she has all to herself. I don’t think small kids are a good idea for her. She wouldn’t be very tolerant of trying to be held or lots of commotion and impulsivity of small kids. But for older kids, I think she could adapt well and would love to seek out the affections they can give her. She also prefers Meow Mix cat food. Her owner wrote a note for the person who took her following her death and said it is her favorite. I have tried to change it to a better quality food, but indeed she will not eat it. So, Meow Mix it is;) She also likes her scratching post, toys, and uses her litter box with no problems. Please help me find Sadie a place to call home.
