When Malcolm’s owner had to return him to us, we quickly saw a heart-broken boy who didn’t understand why he was here in the adoption center. Heis understandably upset. The blanket gives him a place to hide, as he frequently lashes out at anyone who tries to show him some kindness. He just isn’t ready to accept new love.  He was clearly strongly bonded to his former owner.

Now that Mal is in a foster home,  he is all purrs!  Still a little nervous but we've engaged him in play with wand toys and the laser pointer.  He'll thrive in a quiet home where he can again bind with his next person.

Hello, my name is Mal. The first thing you might notice about me is that I’m in constant motion. I really only have two speeds: full speed and wiped out. I am really a nice guy, but I have so much energy I just don’t have time to be held.  I like to chase string toys, laser pointers, and wrestle catnip mice.  So if you choose to add me to your family be ready for some entertainment.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like bridges between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats and dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit: https://fancycats.org/volunteer
