Good With: Dogs and people (including kids!). We haven’t seen Toast interact yet with cats, but happy to test her out.

Story: Toast was rescued from a shelter locally in Washington, DC. Toast is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Toast is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a puppy, Toast will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!

What my foster says: Toast is the type of dog who becomes a celebrity when she walks down a busy street. She is a total sweetheart and shows love to everyone she meets, both adults and children. Either on- or off-leash, she generally plays well with other dogs, including at the dog park. So long as she gets an opportunity to use the restroom a few times a day, she is house-trained and lives well in her foster’s studio apartment in DC. Toast is still young, so she teethes a bit and can get a bit overexcited, but that can be solved if you give her a bully stick and let her decompress in her crate (which she quietly sleeps in through the night!). Given her age, she is still learning when other dogs aren’t interested in playing with Puppy Energy, how to greet humans without climbing them, and occasional leash manners (but is overall good on walks). With some obedience training, she’ll be the perfect medium sized dog!
