Ember is a petite female black lab. She was found as a stray and had run out of time at a regional pound. We are happy to have been able to save her. She is a very energetic, friendly and sweet dog. She gets along with other dogs and appears to be housebroken. Please consider adding Ember to your family.
Foster Home Feedback

December 21st:   Ember LOVES the snow! She has discovered it's almost as much fun to chase her foster brother around in it as it is to fetch her favorite bright green toy that stands out against all the white. She is definitely a snow bunny and even though her mom doesn't seem to enjoy shoveling all of it, Ember hopes we get a LOT more of this fluffy stuff to play in! Ember continues to be a playful and intelligent dog. She loves to please and gets so excited during training, especially when treats are involved. She loves shaking new people's hands when she first meets them, and she also has picked up the cutest "dance" command. Ember sleeps in bed with her foster brother and a cat or two with no issues at all. She absolutely loves children and being petted, and she is one of the best foster dogs I've had as far as ignoring the cats in my home. We are still working on our fear issues with other dogs but with a patient and understanding forever family that knows how to properly introduce her to new dogs, I think Ember will make a great companion for someone.

September 1st:   Ember is a very sweet, intelligent dog. She knows how to sit, stay, lay down, shake, wait until her "go ahead" command to eat, and we are working on rolling over. She loves interacting with people, going on long walks or runs, playing fetch, and LOVES to swim and go to the lake. Typical Lab, she would live in the water if she could and literally belly flops off the dock to go after her ball or Frisbee. Ember is great with kids and cats. She does have some fear issues with other dogs and therefore will need to go to a patient owner who is willing to continue to work with her on this. I do not feel she needs to be an "only dog" as she is currently lives with one dog and three cats. She and her foster brother are now best friends, but it did take a couple days for her to adjust to living with another dog and to see he just wants to play with her, not hurt her. She has been around several other dogs since coming into my home and depending on the situation, she will either stay very close to me and there will be no issues, or she will bark and show great interest in the other dog. We are definitely working on this, and I think in time as her confidence grows, Ember will be a great companion dog.

May 10th: Ember is very fun!  She is very friendly and well behaved in the house.  She enjoys playing fetch with almost anything you throw for her.  She has a lot of energy and she is very good at not jumping on furniture .  I have only had one incident of her peeing in the house, but that was right when we got her and I think we both just needed adjust to each other.  She loves to cuddle and be petted and she is very sweet.  She was a runaway and is very thin from that, but we are working on getting her to a healthier weight.  Ember will make someone VERY happy!
