July 20th:  I've had Rosie in my house for a month now and couldn't be more pleased with her.  She is by far one of the easiest fosters I've ever had!  There are two things in the world Rosie can't live without, food and her person :)  She is a very affectionate dog and doesn't mind jumping in your lap if she sees the chance.  Rosie plays VERY well with my 4 large breed dogs (watch the video!) but cannot be around my cats or my other foster who is a dachshund.  Because of this she has a makeshift apartment set up in my basement (Ok- she has the WHOLE basement) where she is free to roam while I'm at work and at night when we go to bed.  Now, we realize this isn't the IDEAL set up for Rosie but she says "It sure beats boarding!!" and this way she is in a little bit more of a home environment and she gets to work on her socialization skills with other dogs.  Every day when I get home from work we have a romp fest in the backyard but it doesn't take her long to say "ok, I'm ready for dinner and a nap now".  One thing I see in Rosie is that I believe she would make an excellent frisbee dog.  She will jump (sooooo high) in the air to catch a toy or launch off 6 stairs -flying through the air- without batting an eyelash!  She's also done what looks like a half sommersault in the air to catch a toy.  She's so much fun to watch :) 

Rosie, Paydin (my malamute), and I went out last weekend to PetSmart and PetCo and she got so many compliments on how beautiful she is.  Beauty is one thing, but I will tell you, she's got so many other great qualities...and she's willing to share them with a new forever family!!

March 23rd: Rosie is a sweet, laid-back gal who loves nothing more than cuddling and giving kisses (and the occasional ear-nibble). She won't divulge her weight, but let's just say she's 'compact'. Rosie is a medium-energy level dog-- she likes walks and plenty of playtime, but also enjoys her down time. Rosie loves treats and learns new commands quickly. Since coming into rescue she has learned sit and down and is working hard on walking nicely on-leash. She does great on walks with a few reminders. Rosie knows what "off" means, but the urge to jump up and give her favorite people a hug and kiss is just too much for her to resist sometimes!

Rosie likes some dogs and not others. With slow and proper introductions (our volunteers would be happy to give you details/instruction), we think she'd do just find in a home with a compatible canine roommate. Rosie loves (to chase) cats, so a cat-free home is recommended for her. She does well with children she meets, and loves our volunteer's children-- even jumping in an 8 year old boy's lap at the last Adoption Days! Rosie loves anyone who will pet her, so her attitude is "The more the merrier!"

November 13th: Volunteer feedback: I absolutely love Rosie! She is such a cute, little dog. She has tons of energy when we go for runs and is very excited at first! Then she gets tired after about 20 minutes and wants to walk. Her short, little legs can't keep up! She will need to learn some leash manners, but it helps that she is not very big. Rosie doesn't cause any trouble with other dogs when she goes to PetSmart for adoption days, but she doesn't like when other dogs get too close. She loves all people, though! Rosie sits on command, and she always has a happy look on her face. Rosie is one happy girl and soaks up any attention she can get. She makes everyone smile.
