Meet Gunner! A handsome and happy boy!   He appeared to do fine with the cat that he met, sniffed and followed behind the kitty but was friendly towards him. Gunner appears to know what the chuck it ball is as he had that in his mouth the entire car ride.  He's a very nice boy who will make a wonderful companion for an active family.

June 27th - Fred has been renamed Gunner. Gunner is such a puppy still!  He is very playful with people that he knows but he is very, very nervous of strangers.  If somebody walks into my house that he does not know, Gunner just freaks.  He barks and hides around the corner – he definitely had something horrible happen to him before coming to the rescue.  He seems more scared of men but is timid of both men and women.  But it does not take him long to warm up! And then you can’t get rid of him.  He loves other dogs and would love another dog to play with.  He gets along well with my small dog and he does ok with my cat.  He does sometimes want to chase him though.

Gunner is a very high energetic dog. He needs daily exercise or I think he could be destructive…. but I have not had any issues.  He is a very “mouthy” dog as he carries everything around in his mouth – shoes, remotes, pillows, etc. And he loves to play fetch. Gunner is crate trained and is in the kennel while I am at work.  He sleeps on a dog bed at night and does great.  He is a bit of a counter surfer but I think this is an easy fix with a little discipline.

Gunner would do best in an active household.  He would do great with older kids that will play with him.  He is a great dog waiting for his forever home!
