Phyllis is a sweet girl who was left all alone in the pound until 4 Luv of Dog Rescue came to save her.  She is now enjoying life in her new foster home with a foster dog brother too!  We will get more information about her when she settles in to her new home.

Foster Home Feedback

November 4th: Phyllis is still my little helper and cuddle bug. She just got spayed on Wednesday. She is so tough so she is still trying to follow us around and cuddle even when we can tell she should just be resting. At least our dog, Orion, and her foster sister, Coco, leave her alone, while she heals. She has gotten along with the two of them very well, and it doesn’t bother her anymore when they play.

Phyllis is such a great dog I’m surprised she isn’t adopted yet. She is very loyal and loving. She is great around adults and kids, and once she feels comfortable with a person she will do anything for them. If you are looking for the best friend you will ever find, Phyllis is the dog for you.

October 7:  Phyllis is doing great. She has started to fetch and play with toys more. She really likes to chew them up so we have to take them away if we are done playing, and we want to keep the toy for another time. She still loves to cuddle and will lay with anyone who will let her get close. We have decided not to take her to the dog park any more. She likes dogs and loves meeting all the people there, but she gets too stressed by other dogs playing. She can’t tell if they are fighting or playing, and gets upset. We can calm her down without any real problem but don’t think it's worth taking her since she doesn’t play with dogs. She would rather go to a regular park and get attention from people. Phyllis is such a sweetheart you can’t help but love her. She is so easy to take care of, and would love to cuddle with anyone willing to give her a chance.

September 26: Phyllis loves attention and spends her time on someone’s lap. She is so calm and slow compared to the two labs we have besides her. She is polite and careful when she climbs up on your lap, or when she shakes your hand.  We think Phyllis would make a great companion for someone who just wants to cuddle with her. She likes to go for walks but doesn’t really need them.  As long as she can be by your side she is happy as can be.

August 4th: Phyllis is still making herself at home.  We have been back to the dog park a few times in the last week. Phyllis likes all the people at the dog park and doesn't care much to play with dogs there. She is kind of a mother when keeping other dogs in check and you have to watch that, but if she finds someone to pet her then she is happy as can be. She had a great time at adoption days last week and is excited to be back this week. She did really well with everyone coming up to her,and all the other dogs at PetSmart. I got a dog puzzle that I put treats in and Phyllis loved it. She really likes to play and the puzzle gives her a chance to use some different skills. She has also been playing fetch most nights. Phyllis would love to bring some fun and companionship to your home.

July 24th: Phyllis is so sweet and loves to cuddle. She got a bath this week because she got a little muddy. She was really easy to give a bath to. S he jumped right into the tub and just stood there until we were done. I wish every dog was that easy to give a bath to! She is so willing to please and will work so hard to make us happy. We let our dogs on the coach but she will look at us every time as if to say is it ok if I come up and sit with you. It's so cute and it just melts your heart. We went to the dog park on Saturday. Phyllis did great. She was friendly with everyone. Since she is not into playing with other dogs, she walked around finding people to pet her, and just exploring the park. Phyllis does get excited when you are doing anything with her but can be calmed down if you work with her. If you aren't moving around she will just lay down and rest until you leave the room. Then she has to follow you because you might need her. If you're looking for a fun dog to cuddle with, Phyllis is the dog for you.

July 18th: Phyllis is doing great. She is learning the rules of the house and that we have things under control and don't need her help with the other dogs. She seemed happy to see Phoebe back (her pound-mate) and they get along well. She has learned how to shake so we can add that to her growing list of tricks. Her energy level is coming down now and she only gets excited when she know we are going for a walk or when we come home after being gone. She didn't get it and and seemed to be playful and came right back but the cat didn't like it. She will also bark if she sees the cat a few houses down through the back fence. We can get her to stop, her bark is very low tone not very loud, but I don't think a home with cat would be a good idea.

She really likes to follow us around and will lay on top of us if we let her when we sit down. I've been calling her my little helper because she just wants to please and do anything to make us happy. She is not into playing with the other dogs. Orion (her foster dog brother) tries very hard to get her to play she just ignores him.

She's not been food aggressive at all while she has been here. I can take the food bowl away or touch her while she is eating and she is fine. All the dogs get treats together and eat next to each other without a problem.

Anyone looking for a fun little helper that will keep you warm at night, Phyllis is the dog for you.
