From the foster family:  Snickers is a sweet boy who wagged his tail to strangers even in the scary and loud shelter. He loves exploring the yard outside and lounging on a soft dog bed. He seems to be housetrained, though he has had a couple accidents near the door that I will take the blame for.  Snickers is good at  requesting assistance up and onto the couch and bed. Sometimes he even gathers the momentum to jump up by himself.  He is very nice and not afraid of strangers. He walks right up to visitors and can be friends with anyone.

Snickers has a condition called ‘dry eye’ and will need eye drops daily for the rest of his life. His new owner must be able and willing to cover the cost of these drops which is about $40/month. Snickers does not have the best vision or hearing (though he can see and hear some) and because of this he struggles with depth perception and stairs. He would do best with one level living, or he will need someone who does not mind carrying him up the stairs, and  home where baby gates or doors prevent him from accidentally falling down stairs. Snickers is able to do a couple stairs just fine, but he is unable to do a whole flight.  I would not even feel comfortable trying with him, as he has a history of falling down stairs, and I'd hate to see him stumble and get hurt. It is important that his new home does not have open stair cases that he is able to fall down. He could also fall off a deck, balcony or landing if he can squeeze through the bars.  He has done this before so I am speaking from experience.

Snickers is very happy when I get home from work, and likes to dance around and waddle happily with his front paws tapping the ground.  He loves to be in the room with me if I am cooking in the kitchen, working in the office, or lying on the couch. Besides Snickers' stairs/depth issues, he is a low maintenance little guy who really just likes to be loved. Snickers was dropped off at the crowded shelter by his family of many years, because they were moving.  He probably wondered what he did wrong and when they would come back for him.  He can't wait to have a second chance in a family.
