Name: Jack
Age: 4 yearsKid friendly: YesGender: Male
Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier
Weight: 38 lbs
Dog friendly: YesCat friendly: No
History: Seized by local animal control for neglect
Adoption Fee: $200
From the foster family: Words that describe Jack: enthusiastic, playful, energetic, alert. He adores playing tug (and has an excellent “drop it” command) and stuffed animals with squeakers are his favorite. He is always on the move indoors, moving from chew toy to chew toy. If he grabs something that he isn’t supposed to chew on, he is very easy to redirect. He has never exhibited resource guarding with anyone in my house, I can reach down and take something from his mouth with no problem. He is working diligently on his house manners and is housebroken when on a schedule.
Jack didn’t know any obedience when I first started fostering him, but now he has learned “sit” and “down.” He is currently working on loose-leash walking and “wait.” He does well in his kennel (I like to call it his box because then he’s ‘Jack in the box’) if he has been adequately exercised. If he feels like there is still something he needs to do outside of the kennel, then he whines quietly for a while and is restless. I have introduced him to several dogs and he has never acted aggressively toward them, although the older dogs he’s met generally aren’t fans because of his exuberance. He is a little bit smaller than he looks in most of his photos--he is 38lbs.
All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
