Greetings from Puerto Rico,

Perhaps you recently noticed some professional photos of our available animals on our website ; meet Jose Rodrigo Madera.   Jose spent many hours this summer at Luquillo Safe Haven taking fantastic photos of our dogs. It was amazing how quickly and easily he was able to command their attention.  His work continued with the editing and distribution of these photos.  Because of his amazing photos at least 8 dogs have found their forever homes! This was such an amazing opportunity for us!

Jose surprised us a few weeks later with another visit to the shelter. During the photoshoot Jose learned that SAFPR, Luquillo Safe Haven and  Paradise Rescue were conducting a supply drive for the shelter and he bought and delivered bags of dog food to support the drive.  Thank you again, Jose!  

Jose provided us with the following information about himself:

“I have been a photojournalist since 2002, now since January 2023 I began to photograph pets with the purpose of finding them a safe home faster. What I do is that I visit the different sanctuaries and set up a photographic studio to photograph them. The campaign is called #amordiferente and is part of the services of "Planeta B", the first second-hand store for pets that I founded together with Greetchen Diaz, so far I have photographed 355 and a little more than 200 have already been adopted. It is important to clarify that the service is offered completely free, it is our contribution to the problem we have in Puerto Rico of animals in the streets.”

In Puerto Rico, we need office help and help with transporting animals to the airport and to and from veterinarian appointments.
