2017 - the Twelve Dogs of Christmas

All they want for Christmas is a home.

Meet the Eighth Dog of Christmas

Andre

Handsome Andre was turned into an NC shelter because his former owner could no longer care for him. At thirteen, Andre is starting life over again. He is a sweet little guy and bonded quickly to his foster mom. He's looking for a home where he could curl up next to his favorite person and snooze the day away. He is very quiet--interested in everything but not intrusive.

Andre recently had a major dental that we hope will make him feel a lot be

tter. He's spending the holidays with his foster family in Wisconsin but he will be back in the new year! His foster mom says he's ready to go anywhere his person or people go. He's lively but not overly energetic. He is happy going for a walk or ride as well as lounging at home. In the house, he is mellow and will sleep while his person is busy doing something nearby but jumps up immediately if invited to go out. He doesn't need a fence because he wouldn't want to leave your side! He's fine with other dogs--mostly doesn't pay them much attention--and is easygoing with cats and kids.

Andre has a luxating patella in both knees but these don't slow him down at all. They are quite common in smaller dogs and have varying degrees of severity. Andre doesn't seem to pay any attention to them and he gets where he is going just fine.

This Christmas, Andre is dreaming of finding someone who will delight in his company as much as he delights in theirs! He's ready to be someone's best buddy, either on the go or just hanging out at home.

His foster mom took this video of Andre in the snow in Wisconsin.

Welcome to the seventh annual Twelve Dogs of Christmas adoption program from Carolina Poodle Rescue. The staff at Dreamweaver Farms have made the list and checked it twice, and every dog on here has been oh-so-nice!

Starting today, we will feature a new dog each day until Christmas eve. Every release features one of our adoptables providing details about them, their personalities and history, additional photos, and video to help you get to know these wonderful animals.

The Twelve Dogs of Christmas are priceless-- so we do not charge an adoption fee for these companions. They come with a supply of any medications they may need, and, of course, food to transition, collar and id tag and leash.

They also come with many blessings to you for giving a dog a home who really needed a home.

If you are a previous adopter or an already approved adopter and are interested in one of the Twelve Dogs, please drop an email to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org.

If you are are on our distribution but are not yet an approved adopter, please complete an application form and let us know who you are interested in adopting.

*SOS dogs*

* Can't take one home but see one that speaks to your heart? Each of these dogs can also be sponsored. $ 25 per month means a great deal to these animals. It means canned food for older gums, soft blankets and beds, medications when needed and caregivers to stroke their head and hold them close. Many of our dogs live out their lives with us since their unique needs make finding a family difficult. SOS Sponsors allow us to care for these dogs. Without your support, we could not provide for these very special animals. SOS dogs have their own Facebook page,

* If you see a dog who moves you but the dog is lucky enough to find a forever home, the chances are that CPR has other dogs, who are in size, breed, and (possibly) situation, very similar and who also need your support. For more information, contact applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org.
