Finn was surrendered to rescue by his owner who could not afford his care. Finn had an eye injury that went untreated and caused an ulcer in his left eye that was painful and required removal. Initially, our vet thought he might have genetic glaucoma, but then realized it could be injury related. He encouraged us to go to specialist to get him assessed, and check the eye pressure on his good eye. Finn had eye surgery on his injured eye in early Sept, and is already back to his bouncy, busy self.

Finn is being fostered with 2 larger dogs and gets along great with both. His foster mom, Donna, says "Finn has the BEST personality! We just love him! He is very playful, and loves to chase our dogs around the yard. He loves my 2 teens, and I think he would be a good fit with kids. He loves to be pet, but is not a lap dog. He's content to lay near or next to you on the floor, or hang out in his comfy dog bed. He's affectionate, but not clingy. We think he would prefer to have a dog buddy in his home."

Donna describes Finn as a medium energy level dog who is pretty social and confident, but also has a gentle, submissive nature. He's playful, but also does well in his crate at night, and sleeps silently through the night. He's very good about going outside to potty, but can be resistant to the rain.

Finn is fully recovered, very aware of everything going on, and has no issues navigating, playing, running or being a normal dog. He's a happy dog who will be a great addition to most families.

    MEDICAL UPDATE - 10/1/18

Great news! Finn went to the Opthamologist today and they determined that he does NOT have glaucoma in his healthy eye. His remaining eye is healthy, and has a very good pressure. They did suggest he see an ophthalmologist in 6 months just to make sure it's still on track and stays healthy, but since the eye that was removed was believed to be injury related, there is no reason to think there will be any residual issues with his remaining eye.

You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to http://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application.
