Brandy 0880 Is in search of her forever home! Brandy was in a local shelter for quite some time before SSR stepped in. We know that Brandy had a family to call her own at one time -- she came into foster care housebroken, crate trained, and knowing basic commands.   We think Brandy is around 6 or 7 years old, and she has a moderate energy level. Her favorite things are balls and back scratches. She can't resist a good game of chase/keep away with her toys, and loves tug of war! When we're working or relaxing at home she's perfectly happy to settle in to her favorite spot and relax along with us. 

 

Brandy is a typical German Shepherd, she is aloof at first, but once she settles in she is highly loyal, loving, and incredibly smart. She bumps the door when she needs to go outside, and carries her bowl around our house when it is feeding time. Brandy is crate trained, although can be trusted out of the crate when left alone. She is fully house broken, and loves our kids ages 9 and 11. She plays with them endlessly and looks after them when we are out. Brandy is a little cautious when meeting new people and appreciates quiet time in her crate from time to time when there is a lot going on in the household.  

 

Brandy is picky about which dogs she wants to get to know. She has done GREAT with puppies, and done well with slow introductions to some small dogs. We think that with slow, vigilant, and proper introductions she may be able to go into a home that already has a resident dog. 

 

Brandy looks forward to daily walks.  Walking on leash seemed to be new to her when she came out of the shelter. With lots of practice she has been doing GREAT walking in our busy neighborhood and at a few places out in town. She knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, paw, place, crate).   She has a big personality and so many sweet quirks (howling along with sirens, and hiding her pigs ear treats in the corner of the couch). She is endlessly deserving of an adopter who will offer her continued guidance, love, and a place to call her very own.
