Are you looking for a super-sweet young dog who’s good with absolutely everybody (people, other dogs, and cats!)? Then look no further than our darling Mickie! This two-year-old cutie is on the smaller side, but she has a vibrant personality that lights up a room!
Mickie (named after the wrestler Mickie James) came to Bully Paws from the King George County shelter, where she had been surrendered by her former people. She clearly was not treated well in her previous life, but she hasn’t let that stop her from loving humans and wanting nothing more than to please them. Mickie is receiving lots of tender loving care in her foster home, where she’s learning that the world really isn’t such a scary place!
While Mickie is both housebroken and crate trained, she does need some obedience training. She is very food motivated, though, so working with her is more fun than it is a chore! This sweet girl already knows “sit,” and she’s currently learning “down” and “stay.” She’s also getting the hang of walking outside on a leash (probably something she never did before), and we know that with time and patience, she’ll become a pro! Mickie’s foster parents are also teaching her to keep all four paws on the ground when she’s inside the house; this little lady is always curious about what’s on the kitchen counter or table!
Mickie also has a playful side to her that is too adorable for words. She’s discovered the joy of squeaky toys, and she absolutely loves to play fetch with them! Given the chance, she would probably spend hours bringing you a toy and asking you to throw it for her, just to fetch it and bring it back to you to do all over again!
Mickie lives with both dogs and cats in her foster home and has done well with all of them. Her canine foster siblings are all seniors, though, and while they tolerate her, they don’t want to play as much as she does (which Mickie just doesn’t understand!), so a younger dog who can match her exuberance might be a better fit. (Mickie would also be just fine as an only pup!)
If Mickie has captured your heart, please submit an adoption application for her today!
