Meet Mistle, a little ball of floof with a cute, chubby puppy belly that was born in October 2023.  She’s the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, a playful, confident pup that loves to romp, and she’s wicked smart! She makes her foster mom laugh every day with her joyful little bunny hops when she runs and her spunky personality. This girl doesn’t let her small stature keep her from doing anything! Mistle isn’t the typical laid-back or aloof Great Pyrenees pup….she definitely thinks she’s one of the big dogs and loves to mix it up with the four large adult dogs in her foster home, ranging from 60 to 100 pounds. She’s not intimidated by any of them and loves to wrestle and chase them all around the backyard. She likes to play-growl during a wrestling match, which is super cute coming from a little pup who is 1/4 the size of her foster siblings! She does great on a leash, and she struts down the street like she owns it….and did we mention she's potty trained and sleeps through the night? She can also sit, lay down, wait, and she goes in her crate nicely for treats and meals. This sweet and spicy girl will be a joyful addition to any family….she will melt your heart and keep you on your toes!

Mistle will need obedience training as she gets older and mature. There is a lot for a puppy to learn and like all small puppies, she will need someone who can be home with her a lot and provide her with love, patience and boundaries to help her become a loyal companion. She loves the companionship of other animals and requires another dog in the home to act as her mentor as she continues to understand the rules of her new world.

ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206.

PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS.

Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary.

    1. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home.
    2. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family.
    3. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply.
    4. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience.
    5. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place.
    6. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy.
    7. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered.

Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and company used. Northeast transport fee is $200. The Northwest and Midwest transport fees range from $225-$350. The Southeast transport fees range from $250-$350.
