Ben was brought to the shelter as a stray. He is a rather shy (or maybe just distracted) big boy with a very sweet, gentle disposition. This very handsome big boy is a (scent) hound mix, with maybe some blood hound in him. He is very, very thorough about checking out his surroundings with his nose before seeking contact with anyone nearby, but once he is satisfied that he has smelled everything there is to smell, he loves to be petted. Ben is a clean, apparently healthy big boy with a great temperament, so he is likely being missed by his owner. He will be held at the shelter until his stray hold expires, unless he is first reclaimed by his owner. If he is not reclaimed, he will be made available for adoption.
