A Little Bit About Us
Beautiful charcoal-grey smoke Aman and her handsome black smoke brother, Amal, were found living on the mean streets- just the two of them, relying on each other for survival with very little human interaction. A good Samaritan brought them to the shelter. After a few weeks in a quiet and loving foster home, learning to be comfortable around people, they're ready to find a forever home together, if possible. Both cats are still a bit wary around humans initially, but warm up quickly when approached calmly and gently stroked on their heads and cheeks.
Aman and Amal will do best with a family who has some experience with cautious kitties and who can give themr the extra time they will need to become comfortable in their new surroundings. They will enjoy the companionship of adults of any age and polite older children who are able to be patient and gentle when handling them.
A quiet room outfitted with all of their necessities will be the best place to introduce them to the household. Be patient.
Amal is likely to adjust quickly to his new living situation as he is more confident than his sister, Aman; she looks to him for comfort and security. When Amal seems ready, let him explore the room and engage him in play- he's a sucker for a wand teaser toy with you at the other end! Spend plenty of time snuggling and cuddling together, offering soft words of reassurance and lots of petting. He'll soon be purring with pleasure.
Aman is likely to adjust more slowly to her new living situation than her more confident brother, Amal; she looks to him for comfort and security. She is somewhat hand-shy and startles easily, so let her come to you for attention as she settles into her life with you.. When Aman seems comfortable, she will want to explore the room and engage in some play with a wand teaser(she loves them) or other toys that she can kick or bat around. Offer gentle pets as she cruises by. You'll know she's feeling relaxed when she curls up in your lap, purring softly.
