Felix is a delightful mostly black male kitty born around June 2016. Felix was brought to UCD to be euthanized. The shelter he came from, knowing little about FIV, asked that Felix be euthanized just because the guy is FIV positive. The UCD team fell in love with this healthy, sweet, big-hearted guy and made a plea to place him in a foster home.

FIV is an auto-immune disease that can only be transferred by a deep bite wound. Although Felix is more susceptible to illness than non-FIV cats, he has every likelihood of a long happy life if well cared for and kept indoors.

Felix epitomizes the King of Cool but also gets very silly on a regular basis. He will race after his mouse or some unseen spirit and jump into the air in the middle of the hallway, his joy in life is obvious. Felix loves people and other cats. He doesn't like dogs much and his fear of them sometimes results in his randomly swatting our large gentle dog. We would recommend Felix go to a home without dogs, even though our dog seems oblivious to the occasional swats, he may scare other dogs or cause them to be aggressive towards him.

Felix stole our hearts even further when he demonstrated a comfort and affection for our friends and family with special needs. He is particularly fond of those on the spectrum; we have been blessed with visits from a few of our loved ones that sometimes struggle in our society. Felix made sure everyone knew he was happy to see them and welcomed them into his foster home with affection and total acceptance.

Felix' green soulful eyes will melt your heart as he quietly purrs and holds a conversation with his gentle chirping meow. Also, if you are looking for a supportive workout partner, Felix likes to join his foster mom and dad as they do core exercises or yoga. He figures his encouragement will help keep both him and his foster parents in shape! Please consider providing this wonderful young fellow with a forever home, he has a ton of personality and would make a wonderful addition to any home.

    2. Download and print out an application and fill it out

    3. Please specify which animal you are requesting on the application by noting the "NAME" of the animal and the Internal ID.

    4. You may either fax the completed application to the Feline Coordinator at 530 231 2969 or email it to cats@yolospca.org

    5. We will email or call you if we need more information. Since we get many applications and are volunteers, we may not contact you immediately.  You may email if you have additional questions.

All of our felines have been altered prior to adoption. Kittens have been given their first shots of FVRCP, adults are up-to-date on vaccinations, and all cats have are Feline Leukemia tested (negative) and micro chipped. The fee to adopt is $90 (the fee helps cover these costs and the cost of the microchip registration).

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All of our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. For more information about this animal, please email cats@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.

We are still accepting applications on this animal; we do remove the pets from our site once they are adopted.
