Hey everyone my name is Cleburne.  I just got to BTRNT after being abandoned at a scary animal shelter.  I came in pretty rough shape. I was emaciated, had flaky skin, raw rub marks on my face from the shelter cage, filthy ears and bad teeth.   This wonderful rescue took care of all my ears and teeth issues, and I am right as rain now. After my initial vet visit, it was determined that I had a heart murmur but the nice doc says I don't need medicine for it, which is good. I do take liver supplements every day.  I have been getting 6 very nutritious meals and supplements each day and I am blossoming to be quite a handsome gentleman ❤️. The vet says I am about 10 years old.  Since arriving at my foster home I have learned to use the doggie door there and was evidently already potty trained since I have never had an accident in the house. Foster dad says that I am a great cuddler once I settle down, but I am a busy boy and I like to jump in your lap, then jump down, get a sip of water, take a brief tour outdoors and then return to your lap.  I just love to be scratched behind the ears and have my shoulders rubbed.  I get along just fine with the other dogs in my foster home. I haven’t been exposed to cats or children so I’m not sure how I would be around them.  I’m an older fellow so I do have some cataracts and my eyesight is just OK.  I get around just fine but will sometimes be afraid if someone surprises me so it’s best to let me know you’re there. I can hear you just fine.  If you have kids I would probably be fine as long as they were older and understood how to be nice and respectful to a senior boy like me.  I don’t seem to have much interest in toys but I do you have a rubber Nylabone that I really like to carry around.  Sometimes I also can be a "talker" and if you are out of my sight after a bit I will start "ruff-ruffing" and a little mini-howl. I do not appreciate being crated but I am a mellow and trustworthy guy while loose so I don’t need to be crated.  My foster dad said to tell you this: “This boy has had a tough go of it, and deserves to be pampered and loved!”  Are you willing to give me the love I deserve? Cleburne's  adoption fee is $50 but if you are a senior human willing to give him the love he deserves and a wonderful home, there is no adoption fee.
