Cassidy is striking!  Her shiny black fur so sleek and smooth just beg to be petted.  Cassidy was in harms way before her rescuers brought her to our shelter.  She had been caught in a live trap and the captors intentions were not kind!  When she was brought to the shelter we discovered that she likely had kittens but oh no....where were they and how could we possibly ever find them?!?  Well that story gets very interesting....we received a call from a concerned citizen that their son had found a very tiny kitten on the sidewalk and they were afraid that they might have been abandon.  Well based on the location where the kitten was found we just had a feeling they were likely Cassidy's but it had been days and unseasonably hot out so how could they possibly have survived???  So with one kitten in our care we knew there had to be more but no way to know for sure until we heard tiny cries!  We took a risk and brought Cassidy to the place that we thought the kittens were at and let her find them.  It was one of the most amazing sites we had ever experienced.....Cassidy came out of the carrier she was in and gave the kitten a couple of quick kisses and then climbed up into the rafters of the garage seeking for her other kitten.  Moments later she brought him to the edge of the ledge and set him down gently.  Once the kittens and their momma were reunited everyone settled in like no time had passed.  Cassidy's kittens were adopted quickly and now we want to find her the perfect home.  She is loving but overwhelmed in the shelter setting and the other cats make her nervous.  Ideally she would love a home with mature humans and no other pets.  If you might like to help this brave momma enjoy the rest of her days lounging in sunny windows and keeping her glowing black fur shiny and soft we encourage you to go to our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to fill out the Cat Adoption application.  Our cats and kittens are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and FeLV/FIV negative.
