Franklin is a gorgeous tabby mix male cat born sometime between 8/16/2010 and 8/16/2013, we are not sure exactly how old he is but the vet believed likely on younger side between 5yrs and 8 yrs. Franklin is very affectionate and super smart. He is a relaxed dude who enjoys his super plush cat bed very much but also can be counted on to join you, by your side, watching movies, sports or shows. He just likes being next to his people. Franklin does not show fear towards people at all, despite the fact that he came from a hoarder situation and the person who surrendered him indicated a neighbor had shot him. And Franklin came to his foster family significantly underweight. Franklin has some scarring around an eye and was missing fur where he was presumably shot but the fur has grown back and he is a stunning looker. Franklin also drinks a lot of water and pees a lot. Although his blood work and urine analysis showed no signed of kidney or other problems, Franklin will need continuous access to lots of clean water to ensure he stays well hydrated and healthy. Franklin was also malnourished and underweight when he moved into his foster home, but he has gained over a pound and looks terrific. He is definitely a fighter and anticipates living a long healthy life with his forever family when he is adopted. Given the obvious signs of neglect and abuse, once Franklin realized he was in a safe home with people who would take excellent care of him, Franklin became a total love bug and completely trusting. Franklin has perfect litter box etiquette and he does use his box frequently because of his excessive drinking (of water!). He is pretty shy around other cats and dogs but once he realizes no one is going to hurt him and they just want to be his friend, he warms up to other cat-friendly pets. He does seem to prefer people though and has bonded tightly with his humans while largely ignoring or watching his furry foster family. Franklin is a gem of a cat, he deserves to spend the rest of his days in a loving forever home, safe and with plenty of plush blankets and beds for his frequent naps.

    1. Fill out an online application available through our website (www.yolospca.org) or through this link: Online cat application form
    2. Please specify which animal you are requesting on the application by noting the "NAME" of the animal and the Internal ID.

All of our felines have been altered prior to adoption. Kittens have been given their first shots of FVRCP, adults are up-to-date on vaccinations, and all cats have are Feline Leukemia tested (negative) and micro chipped. The fee to adopt is $90 for kittens or $60 for adults over 1 year (the fee helps cover these costs and the cost of the microchip registration).

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All of our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. For more information about this animal, please email yolospcafoster@gmail.com. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.

We are still accepting applications on this animal; we do remove the pets from our site once they are adopted.
