One of our staff members were on their way home from work. She was driving down a very rural road not too far from our ranch when on the side of the road, she saw this very sweet looking pup curled up in a ball on the very edge of the road!
She pulled over and she found a dog that was barely able to even stand on her own, She picked her up, put her in the car, and met me back here at the ranch with her. We scanned for a microchip, not thinking she would have one, and she didn't. We rushed her down to the emergency clinic at VSC in Mt. Pleasant as I didn't know if she was even going to make it.
Poor Emma was emaciated. She was COVERED in fleas and ticks. She was so weak she couldn't even stand any longer. She was incredibly dehydrated and anemic. She spent the next three days at VSC. We treated her with appropriate veterinary care to get her back on track.
She came home and we continued to provide care for her. She was very shy to humans. Petrified of being on a leash and would lay down and cower.
Her EYES JUST SPOKE VOLUMES OF HER... She has the most beautiful eyes.... And in the Scottish community, her eyes mean "good luck"!
Soon, she started to come out of her shell and she just showed how sweet she truly is! She is great with other dogs. Doesn't mind cats and is a bit scared of the horses.
She would thrive in a quiet home with or without other dogs! She LOVES children, young and older and is very gentle. She has since learned to love being on a leash because leashes mean good things to her now! Emma is a very gentle soul and we just absolutely adore her to death!
If you are looking for a gentle quiet fun loving dog then Emma may just be your match! Take a look into her eyes, and I promise you will fall in love with her too!
