Much like his namesake, majestic Baloo is a happy-go-lucky boy. This goofy pup will keep you perpetually amused with his silly antics. He is an energetic dog that is looking for an active family that will make him a part of their lifestyle. He enjoys long walks, smelling the roses, playing with toys, other dogs, and hanging out with his people. He is about 1 year-old and we think he is a shepherd, husky, border collie super mutt but only a DNA test will tell. He is a nice medium size dog weighing in at about 50 lbs. He is very photogenic and ready to start his new career as an Instagram model, but be warned, these luscious locks will require regular brushing and maintenance to stay in tip-top shape.

He is dog and people friendly. However, his doggy friends can sometimes be turned off by his puppy-like exuberance, excessive kissing, and mouthiness. He can be an only dog or fine with an older, calmer, well-adjusted doggy sibling to show him the ropes. He can sometimes bark at new people who scare him, but quickly realizes that they are friendly and wants to get pets and kisses. His new family will definitely need make sure he continues to make positive associations with strangers. In terms of training, he is a blank slate. He needs work on basic obedience beyond sit but has been incredibly receptive to praise, correction, and is very food motivated. He is also mostly potty-trained, only having a few accidents in the house. He has some food bowl guarding issues that his new humans will need to respect. But can you blame him when he was initially found chained up in yard without food and water and over 10 lbs underweight? That said, he takes treats from the hand very nicely and shares munchies with other dogs.

Because of his energy and manageable behavioral issues, his ideal home would be teenager or adult only. With consistent and compassionate leadership and more socialization, this dog will an excellent companion and furry member of the family.
