Ellie is a 7 year old, 10-lb, orange purebred Pomeranian, and she is a sweet, sweet girl!

At her foster home, Ellie is happiest when she's right next to her foster mom, either cuddling in her lap or resting quietly nearby on a comfy spot.  She LOVES a good cuddle! And she just about melts when she's held.  Ellie also enjoys exploring the yard, and going on "sniffari" out on walks.  Even though she doesn't yet understand quite how leashes work, she's easy to walk on one and is getting the hang of polite leash walking quickly.

Out in the world, Ellie meets strangers nicely, will follow you politely around a store, and isn't bothered when passing strange dogs on the street.  After she settles down in a stable home environment, she has the potential to be a great dog for going out in public with her person, and could possibly even get a Canine Good Citizen title with some obedience training and continued exposure to society.

Ellie is an excellent watchdog who will speak up if a stranger is peering in through your window.  She is doing well on her house training but still needs reinforcement of good habits so she doesn't backslide.

Ellie does fine with the small resident dog at her current foster home, and did fine with medium dogs before.  She's not the type who plays with other dogs, and she and her current foster-furbrother mostly ignore each other except when she tries to squeeze into his bed.  She's used to being around many other dogs though, so she would feel most comfortable if there were at least one other dog present at home.  Other than that, she craves the affection of people rather than dogs.

Ellie is not well suited to a home where she spends long periods without human company.  Her nature is that of a companion dog who was born to soak up infinite affection from her humans.  Ideally her primary person would be around much of the time, and she'd have the company of other doggies when the humans were away.

Little Ellie has been through the mill. It is amazing that she's come out of her past life with such a sweet and calm temperament!  She would really appreciate a person who will understand how very ruff she's had it, give her time to adjust to new surroundings, and show her the love she deserves. Ellie will thank you with sweetness and cuddles for the rest of her life.
