This cute bi-eyed lab/husky puppy has been through so much in his short life and earned himself a spot in the hearts of the volunteers and fosters of the ECAS!  Meet Wesley!  Wes came to us when a young woman walked in the shelter carry a small pup with an obviously broken leg.  She said that she saw him in the side of a gravel road and knew he needed help.  Wesley was so skinny but we knew we needed to get that leg fixed ASAP so into the vet for surgery he went.  After healing up from that surgery Wesley suddenly took an unexpected turn for the worse and back to the vet for emergency surgery he went.  Wes had spiked a very high fever and couldn't keep anything down not even a sip of water.  After exploratory surgery and numerous procedures the cause of the fever and illness was never discovered.  We were not sure that our peppy little pup was going to make it through the whole ordeal but you could tell in his eyes he truly wanted to survive and he was determined to hang in there!  Well here he is today still a very peppy puppy but he has put on weight, he is growing and all around thriving.  Still in the hearts of the volunteers its time for Wesley to find a home of his very own where he will have his own people to love him and call him theirs.  Wesley loves to play with other dogs and while he does love to play with kitties sometimes they don't appreciate him.  He gets along great with kids and he is working on learning to leash walk along with other commands.  The Husky in him loves to 'talk' to you and he has lots to say especially if he is trying to convince you of how cute he is when he has been naughty.  He gets very excited at meal time and hops around like a bunny and then sits very still while you get his bowl ready while he waits for his command to go ahead and eat. Wesley is a huge love bug and truly loves to cuddle up on the couch or in bed with the humans or other dogs in his foster family.  He loves to play with toys and he has lots of stuffed toys he collects when its time to kennel up.  Wesley would love a family that likes to play and then cuddle up and watch TV and if that might be you we would encourage you to go to our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to fill out the Dog Adoption Application Wesley's adoption fee is $250.00 and is up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped.  He will have a neuter deposit.
