Meet Honey. Honey is an active 4-month-old puppy. She may be a Chihuahua mix (with beautiful eyes).  Honey is such a sweetie. When she first sees you in the morning, she wiggles her whole body in excitement. Honey's so happy to meet all new people-men and women of all ages. She is great with kids – she currently lives with two children ages 6 and 8. Honey loves engaging other dogs in play, big dogs as well as small dogs.  Right now, she loves to chew, so she needs plenty of chews and tug toys.  If she has a doggy playmate, that seems to be a great outlet for her.  Yolo SPCA rescued Honey from a shelter. The shelter thought she might have cerebellar hypoplasia, which is similar to cerebral palsy in humans. We don’t know for sure, but if it is true, it hardly seems to affect her except that she is deaf, and she sometimes has a slight head wobble. Her vision seems fine. Honey's extremely quick to learn and already knows “Sit” and “Down” when given a hand signal. Her foster family says the only challenge to having a deaf puppy is trying to call her in from the backyard at night.  On the other hand, probably because of her deafness, Honey is not scared of much.  The loud and startling noises that scare some dogs don't even register with her.  She will also peacefully sleep right through other dogs barking, doors closing and opening, and people walking by her.  She sleeps soundly in a crate through the night. Honey is also doing very well on her housetraining.  She uses potty pads, but she will wait to go outside when she is taken out every couple of hours.  Honey is just the sweetest little puppy and she loves life! If you think Honey would be a great companion in your home, please fill out an online application at https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/.
