Do you have the patience to get to know this sweet girl? A true cat-lover’s cat, this little kitty is timid at first but then will make you feel super special when you find her cuddled up against you on the couch or wake up to her purring at the foot of the bed. Barely more than a kitten, she is playful, athletic and funny, shy with new people but friendly and easygoing with all the dogs and cats she’s met at my house.  I’ve been fostering her since last summer – she was at a shelter in Los Angeles with an eye injury resulting from a severe infection as a very young kitten. Between that and her shy personality she didn’t stand much chance for adoption. I work at UC Davis and had her evaluated by the veterinary ophthalmologists there, and fortunately they don’t believe the injury will cause her any problems, just a little weepiness from time to time that doesn’t require treatment. Her eye works perfectly, it just looks a little funny (her iris ruptured which changed the color of that eye). I would keep her in a heartbeat but I do a lot of fostering including dogs that need a dog door, and she is not a cat that does well being allowed outside. (Because she’s so timid, once she gets out she gets scared and its hard to get her back in.) I think she’d do best in an indoor home with other pets and/or a person around – even though she’s shy, she’s really a friendly little creature and gets lonely with my long days away at work and just my one
adult cat to play with. She is spayed (of course!), vaccinated, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative and
comes with many toys and beds should you wish. She’s a little over a year old. She is a reliable litter box user and shares nicely with my adult cat. Her only minor bad habit is that she’s greedy and would do better being meal-fed than free fed so she doesn’t blow up into a little blimp. If you’d like to give her a try, let Yolo County SPCA know. It’s hard to get to know her right away because she takes some time (at least a few days) to warm up to new folks, so the best bet would probably be a trial period. I’m happy to deliver here within a reasonable driving radius and also to take her back if it turns out not to be the right fit.
