This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday & Sunday, Feb. 8-9th from 12pm-4pm or until adopted. We do approve folks ahead of time and give them the first opportunity to meet before the public. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered.

***Bodega is set up to meet their forever home on 2/8. We are not accepting anymore applications for said dog. If the family chooses not to adopt this dog will be available for adoption on noon 2/8.***

Bodega is an 8 month old Terrier mix. He weighs approximately 15lbs. He has a wire type of coat that tends to need less grooming when regularly brushed.The coat doesn't grow endlessly. It also tends to be less shedding which is super nice! Bodega is a sweet, gentle dog who is shy and initially jumpy with all new things. You can tell he was hasn't had a lot of exposure to strangers and new things. BUT the good news is that he's young enough that he can still grow and learn and become a totally new dog with the right home. He will need an experienced home that can go slow but still push him gently into unknown circumstances and build his confidence.

Bodega gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He's fabulous with them. He follows their lead. So if he is placed with a dog who is confident then he's going to be confident. If a dog is well behaved then he's going to follow that lead as well. Bodega doesn't react to grumpy dogs or dogs who aren't friendly to him. He just backs away and goes about his own thing. He is perfectly happy to be friends with those who want to be friends with him. After a few days he loves to play with other dogs. 

Bodega loves you play with toys, it might take him a few days. But once he settles in he loves to play with toys. Bodega is low energy. He is not a nuisance barker. He could be an option for an apartment and condo as long as they continue to work with him on walking on the leash and can introduce him to non-populated areas to walk until he feels comfortable. He isn't a dog who can go out into crowds right off the bat and thrive. Hopefully with another dog in the home, within a month or so he can be walking and learning to grow into meeting and greeting people.

Bodega is best suited for a home that has another dog. If there are children they have to be dog savvy and at least 10 years old. (Dog savvy in having their own dog in their home.)
