Lime is a 10-month-old Italian Greyhound X Chihuahua mix. A splash of lime makes everything better, and this Lime is no exception! This snuggly pup LOVES to give kisses and will even use his paws to hold you still while he thoroughly licks your nose and ears. He’s a big fan of cuddling up to you wherever you are. Sitting on the sofa? He’s lying behind you, resting his head on your shoulder. Lime will keep you laughing with his antics all day. He’s looking for a forever home that loves to play and give and receive TONS of affection.

Lime is a morning pup; he wakes up and is ready to play right away. He enjoys several naps throughout the day, with lots of playing and exploring in between. Lime was a Mama's boy from the moment his foster mom first picked him up. In the beginning, he was attached to her and timid around his foster dad for about a day or so. After getting more used to his new surroundings, he was cuddling with his foster doggy sibling too. It took him a couple of days, but he is starting to enjoy playing with toys. He wants to play with his foster brother, but can get intimidated at times, as his foster doggy is more of a rough player - or should we say “ruff”? Currently, it seems he still prefers one-on-one play with a human above anything else.

When he first got to his foster home, Lime would hide almost every treat he was given to enjoy at a later time - under pillows, between couch cushions. After a little over a week, it seems that he has learned that he'll keep getting more treats and doesn't need to hide them - he eats them right away now. Lime is a total cuddle bug. If you're holding still or sitting, he is most likely to be found with you. He’s met new adults and had a great time. He has not interacted with children or cats yet.

Lime loves walks! He still needs more leash training, as he will start walking in whichever direction he chooses mid-walk. This little explorer has an intrepid spirit! Lime is still working on his house training. He has shown a lot of progress but still has indoor incidents. His foster parents have been working on helping him understand that the crate is a safe space, as he’s not so sure yet. He has been sleeping in a human bed without issue during his stay. He is getting much more comfortable with his crate, though and, with more time, it’s likely he'll adjust to sleeping in a crate.

This little guy is well-behaved; he’s not a nuisance chewer or barker. Lime does seem to enjoy digging in potted plants but stops when caught. He barks when someone walks by the front of the house, as he loves watching the street through the front window.

Lime is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last three years. This does not include pet sitting, roommate's dog or family pets. We believe that puppies need the most experienced homes to become well balanced, well-behaved dogs. If there are children in the household, they should be over the age of 8.
