Meet Gracie! Gracie is a senior bunny who was transferred from a humane society in a rural county that was not equipped to care for her medical needs. She came in shortly before Christmas and was having some mobility issues, which caused her to fall over and have difficulty getting up on her own. Gracie went into foster care and has come such a long way. Her foster parents and vet believe the mobility problems were muscle development issues as a result of her living in a small cage for an extended period. However, over the course of a few months, Gracie has come such a long way and will zoom around the room during playtime. Despite everything she went through before arriving at OHRR, her spirit will light up the room. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. Gracie has one blue eye and one brown eye. She is quite beautiful!

Gracie is estimated to be at least 8 years old and has some medical needs. She receives pain meds twice daily to help with arthritis. Additionally, she has some dry skin that is managed by regular brushing. Her foster parents brush her for a few minutes daily to help her skin and coat. They say that she LOVES to be brushed and will come right over and lay down for brushes. Gracie's mobility issues are significantly better than when she arrived. She occassionally falls on her side, but she just needs a little nudge to help her get up and she's on her way.

Though her medical needs are not extensive, we recommend that Gracie goes to a home that is already familiar with caring for bunnies. We also believe Gracie would do quite well with a friend, so if you have a senior male looking for a mate, Gracie might be perfect! Gracie is currently in a foster home.
