Watch out world, here comes Addy!

Addy is one special girl that can't wait to become your new BFF. She is about 2 years old so she's past that crazy puppy phase and is a gentle and mannerly girl. She weighs about 65lbs, and while she is full grown, she is on the skinny side and needs to fill out a little more. Addy is what we call a mystery mutt as we have no idea what her breed mix is, but we do know she is 100% adorable!

Addy came to us after she was brought into the Stockton Animal Shelter with a badly broken leg. The shelter veterinary team decided that the best choice for Addy was to have the leg amputated, so Addy is a tripod. While she is still adjusting to the change, she doesn't let the fact she only has three legs slow her down! She loves her walks and is such a polite girl who walks right by your side.

Addy is such a sweetheart that loves to make new friends. She is quick to rest her head in your lap for some love and she is the perfect working-from-home buddy that will lay at your feet during all your Zoom calls. She has been a great house guest in her foster home and knows that only toys are for chewing. Her foster dad says her favorite activities are getting belly rubs, taking naps, and sunbathing.

Addy met other dogs when she was at the shelter, and she seems to prefer other calm dogs like herself. She could do well with another mellow buddy, but she also wouldn't mind being your one and only canine kid. We haven't seen Addy with cats, but she could do well with a slow introduction and proper supervision. We haven't seen Addy with kids, but we think she could be a great addition to a family with older, respectful kids.

Addy has been doing great with her housetraining and is happy to sleep in her crate overnight and when home alone. She seems like she hasn't learned skills like "sit" and "down", so she would be a great dog for someone who likes to train the basics.

Addy is such a gentle soul that had a rough start but is oh so ready to have her happy ending. If you think she is the perfect girl for you, submit an adoption application today!

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals.  Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
