Hey there! I’m Canelo — a happy-go-lucky guy with a heart full of love and eyes that might just steal yours. Life is better when it's simple, and I’m all about the little things: long walks, chasing tennis balls, and snuggling up for cozy cuddle breaks. I’m social, easygoing, and always ready to make new friends — humans and dogs alike!

My Perfect Day:

• Morning walk to sniff all the good spots
• Playtime with my favorite stuffed toys
• Midday cuddle session (a must!)
• Evening training practice — I know “sit,” “down,” and “off,” and I’m eager to learn more (especially if snacks are involved)

A Little Extra Info:
I do have chronic bronchitis, so I sometimes need medicine to sleep and antibiotics during flare-ups. But trust me, it doesn’t dim my sparkle — I’m still full of life, love, and tail wags!

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. 

The adoption fee for this pet is $425. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.
