Meet Chai! Chai was found as a stray in North Philly at around 4 months old. Since then, she’s been staying at her finder’s house and enjoying her new life as an indoor cat. She has tons of energy as a five-month-old kitten! She loves wand toys, playing hide and seek, and turning the stairs into her own personal racing track. 

She tends to get easily overstimulated from pets, and isn’t huge on cuddles. She's learning to tolerate being held, but still prefers to explore on her own two feet! She’s an independent girl, but loves attention and often prefers to be in the same room as you. However, she’s very affectionate in the morning, which is the perfect time to get some pets in! 

While her foster parents haven’t seen her in action with other cats, they are looking to place her in a home with other cats to play with who can show her the ropes. While she plays on her own occasionally, she has a strong preference for playing with others! Her boundless energy would be a great addition to a family where someone works from home! 

Being so young, her foster parents are currently working on reinforcing good behaviors. She has a penchant for trying to play with hands and feet, attacking the couch, and getting a bit mouthy, but we are redirecting her energy to real toys! She has a lot of potential to blossom into a great family cat, with your patience and hard work.

There are no children in her foster home, but she has had a short interaction with children as young as 3 and it went positively. As the only animal in her current place, we are not sure if she would be comfortable around dogs.
