Gets Along With:   Other dogs!  We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!

Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment.

Special Adoption Considerations: Kophi is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Kophi is Looking For: Romps in parks and world exploration by his new humans' side! This handsome boy is eager to burn off all that young-dog energy and make pup and people pals along the way. Plus - that breed mix? Read up on it. Yeah he's gonna need lots of mental and physical enrichment. He'd love lots of running time, plus activities like advanced agility.Regular dog school would be good too, so he can show you how super smart he is too. 

Most of all, though, he wants to know where his home is, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. In exchange, he promises whacking tail wags and loyal companionship and adoring gazes. What do you say? Does that sound like a fair trade to you?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this after he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster. 

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
