    REX NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Best Guess for Age:  6 months as of April 2025         SEX:  Male

Approximate Weight: 37 lbs as of 4/2/25; he is still growing!

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home

Rex is Looking For:  His forever family! Being barely out of puppyhood, he's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. (A name change wouldn't be totally wrong too, he says - he's wondering how come everyone gets creative time and he just gets Rex.)

What do you say? Is this sweetie the one for your home and your heart?

What Shelter Staff Say About Rex: Rex spent some time on the Dogs Playing For Life Canine Center campus in Florida. There, he received basic training and enrichment, and socialized with other dogs.

Rex worked on the Sit and Place commands there. He also worked on loose leash walking and sitting at open doors, waiting to be released to go out. He also got to play with enrichment toys such as food-filled Kongs and food puzzles. He was a wonderful participant in doggie playgroups - he's dog social and was really good with dogs who needed a little help socializing with others. He likes to run, play chase, and wrestle - that's his play style.

What My Foster Says About Me: He’s a sweet boy who gets along with all the resident dogs. He‘s working on potty training and is an exuberant love bug.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
