Estimated Weight:    16 lbs as of 4/28/25 - she is still growing!

Gets Along With:   Mumu does well with other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters. 

Currently Living at:  DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Mumu would do well with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can spend time with other dogs regularly, to learn the ropes from them.

Mumu is Looking For:     Hola! I'm Mumu and I spent the first seven months of my life on Vieques, Puerto Rico. It was nice and warm and all that but ya know, it's a small island and I want to see the world! The DC area sounded like a great place to do that! I'm looking for my own humans for walks and romps in parks and all those adventures! And I want to make pup pals along the way! And I want snuggles and cuddles too! 

Most of all, though, I want to know where I belong, to always be safe and loved. What do you say? Do I get to grow up with you?

What My Foster Says About Me: Mumu is playful, friendly, curious, smart...basically the full package! She is sweet and friendly with other dogs — she's submissive and greets each dog by licking their face; loves visiting the dog park. Mumu is an active little puppy who wants to run and play a few times daily, but also sleeps quietly in her crate overnight! She is eager to please and is treat-motivated. She's a little shy with new people, but warms up quickly and is gaining confidence each day! She can be frightened by loud sounds but is learning to walk with more confidence in the city as she's learning to trust me. She is going to be the best addition to your family!

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
