Meet Molly Pitcher – A Gentle Soul Ready to Heal

Molly’s story is about strength and survival. This young Great Pyrenees mama was found alone in a field, very malnourished and very pregnant.

Once she was trapped and had arrived at the shelter, we could see that her body was weak, but her spirit still flickered. So we put a plan into motion and were able to pull her and get her into a foster home, where she had given birth to 12 puppies. Sadly, only 3 survived—a heartbreaking loss that no mother should endure.  That’s when we knew she needed more than just food and medical care—she needed safety, love, and time so she could slowly learn that the world isn’t so scary after all.

Molly is extremely shy, a true flight risk who will need a very patient, experienced, and secure home. She’s not the kind of dog who will run to you with a wagging tail on day one—but if you give her the time and space she needs, you’ll witness something truly special: a dog beginning to trust, heal, and maybe even play again.

She finds comfort in calm environments, gentle routines, and other dogs with good energy. She is quiet, sweet-natured, and absolutely stunning with her soft white coat and thoughtful eyes. She just needs someone to believe in her.

Molly didn’t give up, and now she’s looking for someone who won’t give up on her. If you have the heart, patience, and love to help a dog like her feel safe again, she may be the most rewarding companion you ever meet.
