    A Little Bit About Me

"My given name is Betty Lou Thelma Liz. I was born in South Carolina and made the long journey west with my previous guardian. Someone thought I was a Pit mix but actually my lineage is more refined. You could do a DNA test but I believe there is some Black Mountain Cur and maybe Treeing Tennessee Brindle Dog in my background."

These breeds were used for hunting and yet Betty Lou loves being with people. She has shown some leash frustration. This means she gets very excited and focused when seeing other dogs. Teaching her to defer to you will be the key. Her ideal household should have someone home most of the time, be dog savvy and have older (10+) children. Her energy level is high and she enjoys playing fetch but needs a job or she will get bored. Remember, "a tired dog is a happy dog", which is another way of saying she needs plenty of daily exercise. Enrolling her into a series of dog training classes and even a scenting course would keep her mentally and physically challenged. Betty Lou is full of southern charm and looking for a devoted family to share her life with.
