Adrienne is a 1-year-old Rat Terrier mix, who is special in many ways. She's especially sweet,  and she has those special warm eyes that will melt your heart. She also has some physical needs that will require a special kind of home--one that's filled with patience, love, and understanding. You see, Adrienne was born with a spinal disorder and needs daily over-the-counter medication. She would thrive in a home where someone is with her all or most of the time to give her the attention that she seems to love so much. She also needs her people to know how to handle her carefully so as not to hurt her. Any children would need to be old enough and well-behaved enough to respect her physical limitations and avoid any roughhousing or chasing. She would love to have gentle doggy companionship, but she requests no cats please because, in her opinion, they just beg to be chased. A fenced yard is needed to enable her to have plenty of outdoor time where she can roam and play at her own pace because taking long leash walks can tire her quickly. A bit shy at first, Adrienne will warm up quickly and want to shower you with kisses at bedtime. If she's allowed in your bed, she'll snuggle right up to you and might even try to share your pillow. (Since she's a tiny girl at just 10 lbs., she doesn't think you'll mind.) Adrienne is house-trained but does have an occasional accident due to her disability. She's also leash trained and crate trained, readily going into her crate when prompted, especially if a treat is involved. If you're the kind of person whose heart swells when a dog's eyes say thank you, then you probably have a spot on your bed that's reserved for a special girl like Adrienne.
