Hi, my name is ADDIE (that’s short for Adeline).  I’m 2-3 years old, medium-size at 50 pounds, and am thought to be a Border Collie-mix – not only because I look like a Border Collie, but I act like one, too.  If you know anything about Border Collies, you know they are really smart, loving and loyal, and have lots of energy – yep, that describes me!  The smart part means I learn very quickly when I am given good, calm direction – plus I’m very responsive and I really aim to please.  (I have to admit, though, that I can get bossy, so you must be my firm but kind leader.)  The loving and loyal part means I want to be with you, whether it be laying by your feet during quiet times, going for car rides, or any other activities we can do together, such as nice, long daily walks or hikes for exercise.   Exercising together would not only be good for both of us, but with my energy, I do need physical activity.  (I bet I’d be a good jogging buddy, too, if that is your thing.)  Something else we could do is play Fetch!  Even though my left eye isn’t so good (believed to be a congenital deformity), Fetch is a favorite game of mine – and I will amaze you with my ability to catch a ball!   Another thing, I think it’d be awesome to have a “canine sibling” or good dog friends to play with because I love to romp with other dogs – I just need to be properly introduced first and then we’re off and running!  Cats I would probably want to chase if they run - not to be mean, but just to play.  I am house-trained (although there might be an accident or two while I am getting used to my forever home).  I am crate-trained, but I would much prefer to sleep on a doggy-bed near you – or better yet, snuggled up on your bed if that is allowed.  So what do you think – are we meant for each other?  Let’s find out!  Please go on-line to www.coloradocaninerescue.org and fill out an adoption application.  Oh, yeah, I should also add that I am spayed, vaccinated, heart worm negative, and microchipped – all for an adoption donation of only $200.00.  How great is that?!   Remember, though, the Rescue can’t guarantee my breed composition or my age – but you won’t care about that once you meet me!  Hope to see you soon!
