Cheerful Chester is right where he wants to be – leaning against the edge of the bathtub in his foster home! He may be a senior at the age of 13, but it’s a lucky 13, given that he was rescued from a high-kill California shelter in time to live out all nine of his lives. Laid back and loving, social and sweet, he likes being where his people are and follows his foster mom wherever she goes. Endlessly curious and endearingly chatty, he loves playing, and gets along well with both the resident cats and dogs. Despite being de-clawed by his previous family, he has no bad habits and is always well behaved. And although he has diabetes, it’s currently in remission and is being managed solely through diet. While he CANNOT consume any dry food, he can have pure meat snacks. Due to his dietary restrictions, cheery and charming Chester would thrive in a loving home either as an only cat or with another diabetic cat. He is currently available to meet his new family at the PetSmart in Superior!

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

    • $250 for purebred/highly requested kittens (6 months & under)
    • $150 for purebred/highly requested cats (older than 6 months)
    • $150 for kittens (6 months & under)
    • $75 for cats (older than 6 months)
    • $35 for senior cats (8 years or older)

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
