Gia came to New Rattitude with four tiny babies in tow. This little mama did an excellent job of caring for and then weaning all her pups, so now she’s ready to be someone's baby herself. In addition to being an awesome parent, Gia has spent her 7 years developing the personality and behaviors needed to become the PERFECT dog. Sweet through and through, she loves children and will lap up all the attention they care to give, smiling the whole time. Her foster mom’s granddaughters can't get enough of her! Gia's foster family has small and big dogs, and while she’ll bark at the big dogs through the fence, she behaves appropriately with them in the house. With little dogs, she’s absolutely fine. While she’s a bit leery of cats, she doesn't bark or chase them; she just follows and sniffs curiously. Gia is crate trained and fully house-trained, having had no accidents in the house. She learned how to use a dog door quickly but still sometimes needs a little encouragement to push the flap. The good news is that she goes to the door and looks at you when she needs to go out. Gia also walks well on leash, rides quietly in the car, and even sits in her foster mom's lap to have her nails trimmed with no fuss at all. (She’s such a lady that she stood perfectly still and didn't object to getting a bath.) With one ear up and the other ear down, Gia is 12 lbs. of adorable.
