Guava the Chihuahua would love to be your lap dog. Guava is a sweet little girl who is 10 years young and weighs about 7 lbs. Guava is house trained and would be an awesome & easy-to-live-with kind of dog for a quiet household. She is good around other dogs, great with the foster's dog-tolerant cat, and travels well in a crate or on your lap. UPDATE: Guava was thought to have a condition known as dry-eye and needing twice daily eye drops (an inexpensive but necessary lifetime requirement).  However, her recent followup vet appointment for eyes is showing Guava has eye tear production (Yea!) and her eye drops have been reduced to once a day.  We are hopeful that eye drops will be reduced to maintenance or as needed kind of thing, and even more hopeful that the the eye drops can be stopped altogether.

Guava would do great in an apartment and enjoys short walks around the neighborhood.  She is a little timid with new people, but she is all smiles with those she knows and loves. She has a sweet little bark to warn you when people are at the door and quickly calms when she knows they are welcome.   She tends to like women a tiny bit more than men, but good treats are the tipping point to this little girl's heart. Guava is a bit of a couch potato and loves to nap. She tends to move her dog bed around till it is in Just the Right Spot (usually right in the middle of the room).  She will sleep at the end of your bed if you let her, or will be happy in a dog bed on the floor if you insist. She appreciates a lift up or a step up onto couches & beds.

Guava is spayed, micro-chipped,  up to date on her vaccinations, and has recently had a dental.  Please go to Second Chance Dog Rescue's website at: http://secondchancedogrescue.org/adopt-a-dog/adoption-application/  to complete an application to meet her.  Her adoption fee is $150.00 and helps the rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. ♥
