Angel is a smart, active, and super sweet Rattie mix with a hefty dose of Dappled Dachsund DNA and possibly some mystery ingredients added for extra interest. It's no mystery, however, that adorable 15-lb. 1-year-old Angel lives up to her name. Rescued after a being hit by a car, Angel has captured the heart of everyone she’s met with her loving, gentle, but equally spunky personality. The five weeks of crate rest she was prescribed hardly dented her cheerful temperament, and now, cleared for all activities at last, she's bursting with enthusiasm to find her forever home! Angel enjoys snuggling, belly rubs, and sweet talk, as well as darting about the yard. She can be cowed by loud voices, so a quiet but firm approach is best if she ever needs any correction. Food motivated and eager to please, she responds well to praise and treats, and though she likes to use her mouth playfully when she has energy to burn, she has shown absolutely no aggression in a variety of situations. Angel’s strict crate rest made potty training a challenge, but now that she's moving around and on a good schedule, her house-training has improved immensely. Angel can be a little shy of new people at first, but with kids and grownups alike, she just needs a few seconds of sweetness. Then she’s rolling over for a belly rub and nuzzling them for more. She’s also great with other dogs of all sizes, ready to play and run with them if they can enjoy her energy as much as she does. She does like to chase more than balls, though, so a house with cats is not recommended. On the other hand, a house with a fenced yard, where she could romp around off leash, would please her greatly. Angel will walk or jog as long as you are willing to go and is generally polite on her leash. Just one week after completing her crate rest, she was doing beautifully with basic obedience, like “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” as well as walking on one side when leashed. You can see Angel first learning to sit and stay in this short video at https://youtu.be/DEPsg79z9zs . When she’s done with romping, playing, or training, Angel gladly settles down on a bed in the office, snuggles on a lap while watching TV, wanders the kitchen while her people are cooking, or gets into her crate for a little break. She likes her crate, enjoying her tennis ball and chew toy smeared with peanut butter when her people have to go out.  She sleeps in her crate at night and settles down quickly, as long as she's had activity in the evening. Smart, active and delightfully sweet—summed up in one word—Angel. Wouldn't you like to be the active family with whom she shares her cheerful outlook, playfulness, and devotion?
