Meet Augie, dog No. 2,000 rescued by New Rattitude. Tipping the scales at about 19 lbs., Augie is a leggy 1-year-old Rat Terrier possibly mixed with something equally adorable. Still loaded with puppy energy, Augie is ready to go, go, go as soon as he sees your feet touch the floor. He loves to play with balls and other toys, especially the toy that came with him to his foster home. (He seems to know that it belongs to him.) If you need to kick back and chill, he is more than willing to snuggle up next to you until you are ready to move again. Augie loves all the people and dogs he has met so far. While he hasn't met any kids or kitties, this friendly boy would likely get along with both (as long as the kids are old enough to know how to treat a dog and the kitties aren't frightened by canine playfulness.) Augie is totally house-trained and crate trained. While he's accustomed to sleeping in his crate at night, he would be absolutely thrilled if he were allowed to sleep in bed with you. He's never destructive in the house and rarely barks. When he does, it's a deep bark that sounds like it came from a much bigger dog. Augie rides well in a car, and he's currently working on leash walking and doing well with it. He's a fast learner, who wants to please, and would probably enjoy taking an obedience class or maybe even an agility class.
