Tillie has been through a lot in her short life, but her tail never stops wagging and she is always happy to see you! When Tillie came into rescue, she had a dislocated hip, which was treated with a surgery called FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy). Today this long-legged 2-year-old Rattie mix has recovered beautifully, having built muscle in both back legs and using her back legs like a champ! Right after her surgery, she had to walk on her front legs only, with her rear end hoisted in the air, but now she walks on all fours nearly all the time. It's almost incredible to see how far this spunky 11-lb. girl has progressed! Naturally Tillie is very protective of her space, particularly her hindquarters, so she would not be a good fit for a home with young children. However, she is comfortable with the dogs in her foster home and is now running and playing with them, even competing to be the first one out the back door. (She'll do best with dogs of a similar size.) She's also learning the joy of such terrier pastimes as ball chasing, bone chewing, and serving as watchdog-in-chief to announce the arrival of the mailman (with tail wagging the whole time) and how much she missed you while you were out. While her personality is blossoming more every day, she can still be a bit shy with strangers, though from the energy in that wagging tail of hers, you might not know it. Tillie is crate trained and fully house-trained, and she walks wonderfully on a leash. If you were to ask Tillie what her most favorite thing is in the whole world, she would probably say it's snuggling and just being a faithful companion to her human. Are you the special someone Tillie longs for--a person with a loving heart and the desire to help with her ongoing recovery? If you were to ask Tillie, she would surely wag her tail and bark an enthusiastic "Yes!" You can see more pictures of sweet Tillie at http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/tillie
