With her black dabbed white coat and black eye patch for added drama, alluring Addison turns heads everywhere she goes. At 35 pounds, this special needs sweetheart may be deaf, but this hasn’t dampened her spirit or slowed her step. She’s highly intelligent and highly treat motivated, and while an e-collar on "vibrate" mode gets her attention, especially for "come", she’s also been learning hand signals, and now  knows "sit", "stay" and "off" in the house. Very attached to her foster mom, she loves curling up beside her when she sits on the couch, and although Addison rests in her doggy bed during the day, she much prefers sleeping on top of the covers of her foster mom’s bed at night. She likes chewing on bones, ropes and balls, and while she doesn’t play fetch, she does play tug-o-war, and not only does she enjoy being brushed, she also enjoys car rides. Brimful of energy, she loves going for long walks as part of her daily exercise routine, likes meeting new people, and is very playful with other dogs large and small. Excitable when starting her walks, she tends to pull until the vibrations from her e-collar remind her to pull less. And due to her very high prey drive (she’ll readily chase anything from small animals to moving cars) she must always be leashed whenever she’s outside as well as on her walks. Not fond of her crate but fully housetrained, Addison’s ideal home then, is one with at least a 6-foot fenced yard, another dog for company (children 10 years or older), and someone there most of the time who’s committed to patiently continuing her very specific training while ensuring she’s kept mentally stimulated and physically satisfied fur-ever.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care, enabling us to save more lives!

Adoption fee is $250 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here .   We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email ARRColorado@gmail.com for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time.
