Photogenic in every pose, playful and friendly 10-year-old Pip loves meeting everyone who visits his foster home, particularly if it means being petted and having his chin and neck rubbed. He also loves chasing fake mice, sitting in the window to gaze outside, taking naps in the sun and lying next to his foster mom’s feet on the couch. Diagnosed with a heart murmur and an enlarged heart, he requires medication for life -- given by dropper twice a day which he accepts easily – and since his kidney levels are higher than normal, he eats special KD food as a precaution. While he might prefer to play energetically and run here, there and everywhere, he must, for his health’s sake, be satisfied with less stressful pastimes. For this reason he requires especially understanding and loving adopters in a tranquil home without other cats to entice him into accepting a low-key lifestyle, complete with snuggles, a screened-in porch and safer, more "passive" toys. These same special adopters must be able to purchase and administer his heart medication (it costs app. $60 for 3 months), pay for any vet-recommended heart ultrasounds and work with that vet to monitor his heart condition and kidney function. Our special and loving Pip purr-omises to make the effort worth their while!

Thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation, Pip’s adoption fee has been waived.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

    • $250 for purebred/highly requested kittens (6 months & under)
    • $150 for purebred/highly requested cats (older than 6 months)
    • $150 for kittens (6 months & under)
    • $75 for cats (older than 6 months)
    • $35 for senior cats (8 years or older)

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application  here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
