Aurora is named for her rescuer who found this young kitty in her yard and began feeding her. It didn't take long before the kitty Aurora let her guard down and accept love but this was a big leap of faith for this little kitty who had been on her own too long. During her time on the streets Aurora's paw was injured and while the bones have healed, her paw will always be crooked. While it doesn't seem to hurt her at all it does inhibit her mobility a little bit... she'll likely never be one to jump up on the counters...so that could actually be a good thing. Due to her time on the streets she's slow to warm up to new people and animals but has done fine in her foster home with other cats and small dogs. Aurora is extremely friendly and would probably do well with anyone - including small children. Because of her limited mobility it's probably best if she not live with dogs who will chase her... otherwise she's open to living with any family who will keep her safely indoors forever!

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

    • $250 for purebred/highly requested kittens (6 months & under)
    • $150 for purebred/highly requested cats (older than 6 months)
    • $150 for kittens (6 months & under)
    • $75 for cats (older than 6 months)
    • $35 for senior cats (8 years or older)
