Buddy is a five to six year old Chihuahua who came to Colorado Canine Rescue from a rural shelter in Kansas and so there isn't much known about his history, including his age and breed (both are guesses by shelter and rescue staff).

Buddy is extremely sweet and would make a wonderful pet for someone.  He has been recovering from being hit by a car in November and so he can be a bit unsure about getting picked up at times, especially with new people.  Buddy loves belly scratches, he will roll over to let you know when he thinks you should be giving him more rubs.  He loves to play! His favorite toy is a squeaky ball that he loves to chase around.  He also does great on leash and really enjoys walks.

Buddy is house trained, however, his foster mom had him use puppy pads and towels to relieve himself after his accident, he will still use puppy pads and sometimes mistakes rugs for a place to potty, he just needs an occasional, gentle reminder to potty outside.  Buddy does well around other dogs as long as they don't jump on him. He would do best in a home without small children.

If you are interested in adopting Buddy, please submit an adoption application located on our website, We are asking for a $200 adoption donation.  He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter. In addition, most dogs listed as potty trained will experience an adjustment period as they learn the routines in their new home.
